Overview

Perceptix is an online platform designed to test a person's ability to identify AI generated media, including text, images, video, and audio. Users are shown media examples and asked to decide whether they believe the content is AI generated. The platform then presents a result and allows scores to be compared with other participants. For this project we used the MERN stack, and made both front end and back end from scratch.

My contribution

My main responsibility was security and the handling of sensitive information flow. Since the platform was intended as a research tool with multiple researchers, it included login functionality and data that could be extracted for later analysis.

What I learned

I learned more about authentication, password handling, encryption concepts, and the importance of designing systems carefully when user data and research data are involved.
